Public register of pool inspectors who can check swimming pool barriers

Occupational Regulation registers pool inspectors in New Zealand and administers the register of pool inspectors.

Pool inspector registration requirements

Any person undertaking pool barrier inspections must meet all the registration requirements in order to be listed on our public register of independently qualified pool inspectors.

For consumers

If you own a residential pool that's filled (or partly filled) with water, it must have physical barriers that restrict access to the pool by unsupervised children under 5. These barriers need to be inspected every 3 years.
