About us
Occupational Regulation — a unit within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) — administers a register of independently qualified pool inspector who we've assessed to ensure that they're competent to carry out pool barrier inspections. Pool owners can search this register to find an inspector in their area.

The pool inspector regime
Since January 2017 the Building Act has required pool barriers to be inspected every 3 years. To help with meeting this requirement, the independently qualified pool inspector regime was introduced.
